Director, US Marketing - Rare Disease | Profitable Rare Disease Biotech | Hybrid Work | RETAINED SEARCH

Cornerstone Search Group has been retained by a commercial-stage, profitable, and growing (400+ ppl) rare immunology disease pharma whose stock is performing strongly and benefits from a very strong culture. We know first-hand about this company’s positive work culture from working with them before. We are partnering with them again for this key Director of Marketing position that will focus on their flagship BLA-approved immunology rare disease treatment.

(1) Gain Rare Disease Experience: While our client values prior rare disease experience, they are comfortable hiring an individual that would like to move into the rare disease space, particularly if you’ve had prior specialty pharma experience.

(2) Hybrid Work Arrangement: Our client offers a hybrid arrangement where their people typically work on-site only 2 or 3 days per week.

(4) Stock Performance: This company is fortunately in the minority of rare disease pharmas whose stock is continuing to perform as they are doing well in terms of sales, profitability, and because they have a highly anticipated upcoming launch.

LOCATION: Our client is based in the Bridgewater, NJ Metro Area in the heart of New Jersey’s Pharmaceutical Corridor. For the 2 or 3 days you need to work on-site, their location is within driving distance from anywhere in Northern and Central New Jersey, from Eastern Pennsylvania, and from New York City.

ROLE SCOPE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Significantly contribute to the development of strategies, tactics, and messaging that will optimize the product’s benefits and that differentiate it from competitors.
  • In partnership with Legal, Medical, Market Access, Sales, and Regulatory, lead the development of high-quality materials and programs that differentiates their flagship product from the competition. These projects will cross both healthcare provider and consumer marketing.
  • Lead in the development of personal and non-personal programs that increase patient engagement and activation.
  • Lead in the development of materials and training for speaker programs and ensure their successful execution.
  • Identify the optimal content and mix for digital and social marketing.
  • Fuel growth by understanding and acting upon key customer insights through your analysis of market data and market research.

DESIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCES / BEHAVIORS:

  • BA/BS required. Relevant advanced degree(s) is a plus but is not required.
  • 5+ years of pharma-industry marketing experience with ideally 8+ years of experience overall.
  • Rare disease experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Prior pharma sales experience is a plus.
  • Seeking a passionate, proactive, self-motivated, and strategic individual who is transparent, builds trusting relationships, and desires to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented culture.
  • Integrity and alignment with compliance is key with a clear HCP and patient focus.
  • Ability to communicate concepts in a clear, concise, and compelling manner.
  • The ability to continuously analyze the market paired with the corresponding agility to adjust direction and/or focus as needed.
