Our client is a successful global biopharmaceutical and diagnostics company focused on developing novel technologies and applications for single-cell analysis to advance precision medicine for various types of cancer, and continuing to expand its unique capabilities and presence across the globe.

They are seeking to hire a Clinical Laboratory Technician for their high-complexity CLIA-certified lab. This position is based in Huntington Valley, PA.

Note: Shift hours are Tuesday-Thursday (3-11pm), Friday (2-10pm), and Saturday (9am-5pm)

Responsibilities

The Clinical Lab Technician role is focused on quality control and accuracy whose responsibilities will include processing high-complexity blood tests in compliance with Good Clinical Laboratory Practices, CLIA and CAP guidelines, proper documentation, ordering and inspection of reagents, laboratory equipment maintenance, wet lab processing, assay implementation, customer complaint, assay and instrument qualification procedures, laboratory incident investigations and documentation.

  • Processes samples for next-generation sequencing while following all CAP and CLIA guidelines as well as relevant SOPs.
  • Responsible for completion of test methods to ensure quality results and perform laboratory maintenance duties including the preparation of reagents, maintaining laboratory supply inventories, and routine monitoring and cleaning procedures.
  • Maintains laboratory record system to document key information on specimen collection, identification, quality control and other factors.
  • Collaborate with R&D on assay transfers and implementation, and oversee supply procurement that is central to enhancing lab efficiency.
  • Oversees and effectively manages proficiency testing for the laboratory.
  • Performs high complexity testing under GCLP, CLIA, and CAP guidelines.
  • Participation in assay transfers and assay implementation with the development of new LDTs.
  • Ordering and inspection of reagents, sample receipt, accessioning, verification of paperwork and samples, wet lab processing, setting up instrument runs, and reviewing results.

Qualifications / Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Chemistry, or Physics.
  • Clinical laboratory experience and next-generation sequencing knowledge is preferred.
  • Proficiency in molecular biology techniques. Hands-on experience in running gel electrophoresis and analysis of PCR products is a plus.
  • Experience maintaining wet-lab equipment and ensuring quality control (QC).
  • Working knowledge of cell-based and molecular models used in cancer biology is a plus.
  • Experience working with clinically relevant patient sample types (e.g., whole blood, plasma).
