Business Development Manager (Sales) | Project Management Practice | Leading Engineering & Sciences Services Firm

Our client is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.  The company is very much in high-growth-focused mode right now and looking to leverage its services/design expertise and functional area/management capabilities to further expand its customer base.

They are seeking to hire an experienced business development/sales professional with a proven book of business and B2B Project Management Services background (in industries such as Chemical/Manufacturing, Power/Utilities, Construction Mgt, Industrial, Oil & Gas, etc.) to forge key relationships, identify/develop/capture new account targets and business opportunities and win new contracts for the firm (i.e. more focused on the “hunting” for new logos vs. “farming” existing accounts/customers).  You will be rewarded with a competitive salary plus uncapped commission and other perks.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, pursue and establish target accounts and partnerships relative to the company’s capabilities for providing project management services to large-scale clients.
  • Navigate and manage the company’s account strategy within the Project Management Practice.
  • Partner with internal Practice Areas/Vertical leaders to ensure a consistent and effective approach for all prospective customers.
  • Identify new professional services opportunities aligned with the company’s strategic focus areas.
  • Interface with customers, building relationships with Executive Sponsors and key decision makers; and achieve growth goals by winning new accounts.
  • Proven ability to develop strong relationships at all levels, identify and capture new business opportunities and execute strategies to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Partner with account managers to educate and lead them on strategic initiatives for the company to identify target accounts and drive consultative business solutions.
  • Utilize consultative selling techniques to drive market/customer share by increasing deal size and moving deals up the services/consulting value chain.
  • Create and manage account or portfolio growth projections based off experience, vertical industry knowledge, marketplace knowledge, etc.
  • Facilitate effective partnership between the company’s pillars (BD, Solutions, Delivery, Finance and TA) to maximize the opportunities.
  • Develops tactical pursuit and capture plans. Provide subject matter expertise in vertical industry to target and win new business by selling the firm’s Project Management solutions services to customers in the focused industries such as Utilities, Chemical & Manufacturing, Industrial Goods, Construction, Food & Beverage, etc.
  • Build and maintain strong alliance with Delivery Operations to address and provide feedback/solutions to all challenges that are presented internally or via the client’s portfolio and create strategies and tasks for continuous business process improvement.

Qualifications / Requirements

Desired Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Project Management Consulting experience is strongly preferred.
  • 7-10+ years of Services Business Development experience with direct involvement in initiating, cultivating, and managing large customer accounts aligned to one or more of the following industries: Utilities, Chemical & Manufacturing, Heavy Industrial Goods, Oil & Gas, Construction.
  • Proven success developing and solutioning Project Management outsourcing/consulting engagements/services including: Full Project Lifecycle Management, Project Planning & Controls, Construction Management, Procurement & Supply Chain, Project Safety/Quality Management.
  • Experience driving revenue within EPC model (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) and Project Management (Project Controls/Owner’s Representation/Scheduling).
  • Ability to travel US (up to 40%) to customer meetings and internal meetings.
