SUMMARY:  Cornerstone has been retained by a very innovative and attractive global biotechnology company that is currently searching for a Senior Director/Director, Program & Alliance Management.

Our client offers a flexible work-life balance to include working from home (with the ideal candidate located on the east coast, as our client is based in New York City).  They are publicly traded, have very attractive platform technology and a strong pipeline across several therapeutic areas to include multiple partnership deals in place.

They are searching for a hands-on program and alliance management professional that can collaborate internally across the organization (to include executive management) as well externally with partners.  You will serve as their lead Program and Alliance Management leader on their highest profile Phase III program and will also manage other programs in development/ This is a high visibility position that will work closely with executive and C-level teams as this role directly reports to the SVP.

POSITION:  Senior Director/Director, Program & Alliance Management

LOCATION:  Remote Based or New York City

  • Lead multiple programs and initiatives and prioritize tasks effectively across both internal and external stakeholders while working closely with the executive and C-level teams.
  • Advise the collaboration partners on the implementation and monitoring of the partnership.
  • Provide key input and planning for multi-functional team discussions for FDA/BLA submissions (i.e. working with regulatory, CMC, commercial, Medical, Safety, Legal)
  • Track progress of clinical development programs including the definition and reporting of agreed KPI’s.
  • Lead and conduct regular program check-in meetings and handle any problems/issues that may arise.
  • Lead efforts to increase alignment, mutual understanding and trust between the collaboration partners.
  • Contribute to due diligence with potential partners/third parties
  • Prepare project management documentation and monitor program progress.
  • Define the important value drivers and risks across programs.
  • Manage any transitions effectively within the required timeframe and seamlessly.
  • Communicate the risks and resolutions with the program cross functional team and manage the agreed actions.
  • Facilitate complex discussions and map a way forward when unanticipated situations or company decisions trigger the need for change.
  • Anticipate and recommend up and coming changes in the project required to ensure it is on track.


  • BS is required with an advanced scientific degree being preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry.
  • At least 5-8 years in project/portfolio management with experience leading cross-functional matrix teams.
  • Demonstrated competency and expertise in Preclinical and Clinical Development with solid understanding of clinical disease area and drug development pathway and the ability to contribute to strategic discussions.
  • Experience working with commercial / launch teams a plus.
