Sr. Associate/Associate, Executive Search

The Sr./Associate will work hand-in-hand with search teams, led by the Chief Operating Officer. The training and development foundation will be built upon Cornerstone’s 22-year history of successfully developing executive recruitment leaders within the organization and includes a personalized training plan adapted to best suit the Sr./Associate’s skill level and desired goals.

Once the foundation is built upon Cornerstone’s search and recruitment principles, the Associate will have the opportunity to take further and further ownership of the search process.

Cornerstone does not quantify specific experience or requirements.  The following list includes a variety of attributes, intangibles, and skills that have ultimately led to successful careers at Cornerstone:

  • At least 1-2 years of professional experience in a collaborative and people-driven role.
  • A “fire in the belly” and a professional hustle that drives and self-motivates you. This is generally something that has followed you throughout your life.
  • A willingness to be held accountable. You must be comfortable being visible across the organization.   This level of visibility can be unnerving to some, but it is the same visibility/accountability that can lead you to be incredibly successful, very quickly.
  • A genuine interest in working, collaborating, and interacting with people. There is simply no way around this.  Our business is people.
  • Excellent communication skills, listening skills, and emotional intelligence. Candidate and Client relationships are built upon this.
  • A strong interest in the Pharmaceutical/Biotech industry.

  • Comfort with internet-based research methods and proficiency with MS Office and Google Suite.
  • Ability to be adaptable and flexible to the ever-changing priorities and needs of a small organization and the diverse candidates and Clients they serve.

Location

Must be located within a one-hour commute of Chatham, NJ. The expectation would be at least two days per week in the office.

Responsibilities

The foundational principles will lay the groundwork for all future success.  Associates will have responsibility for:

  • Shadowing the COO and other Cornerstone Leadership across all details, strategy, and actions related to candidate interviewing, marketing/”pitching” of the Client, expectation/timeline management for candidates and Clients, offer negotiation, etc. AND Client meetings, business development, etc.
  • Performing research/sourcing both within Cornerstone’s internal database, as well as external paid and public websites to include full access to LinkedIn Recruiter.
  • Identifying a long and short list of viable candidates to be ranked and recruited.
  • Creating well-written and thought-provoking position descriptions that will be used internally and externally. This will be based on intake calls with the Client and external/internal research.
  • Creating/updating detailed, thought-provoking Client dossiers for the searches they are assigned to in order for candidates to better understand each specific company/Client that we serve.
  • Day-to-day operational management and scheduling of candidate interviews, subsequent meetings/conversations, etc.
  • Candidate and Client data management.
  • Analyzing and staying current on industry/market trends, research, media, etc.
