RETAINED SEARCH: CMO to Lead R&D & Develop Pipeline Including 1st-in-Class/Orphan Drug to Treat Advanced Cancers
This is not your ordinary “run-of-the-mill” CMO opportunity. This opportunity requires a CMO that views the potential obstacles and unchartered pathways its assets most likely will face as CHALLENGES that will require the entire depth and breadth of his/her drug development expertise to get these Novel 1st-in-class (orphan) Oncology assets to treat advanced cancers to patients sooner vs. later, i.e. you WILL NOT be developing another “me too” and/or an additional indication for a drug already approved.
You will be given all the resources you need to succeed: more than adequate funding for today and the future, the clearly understood commitment of the necessary time and money it will take to succeed in the Oncology TA by Sr. Management, the human capital/talent necessary and more. You will also report directly to a CEO that is a seasoned and accomplished professional that has worked in the Oncology Business for many years with both small and large pharma companies, i.e. the CEO understands the unique aspects and highly competitive Oncology marketplace very well.
Immediately, you will already have a team of ~100 in-place (pre-clinical, CMC, development, clinical operations, regulatory and more) that have been working on the existing portfolio of pre-clinical, and early-stage and later-stage development assets. And, you will strategically build/expand/prioritize the existing and future Oncology portfolio over time too with in-house discoveries, in-license acquisitions/co-development collaborations.
Location: Boston, MA Area (relocation assistance available)
Compensation: A very competitive compensation package will be offered (base, annual bonus, long-term incentives)
- MD, Hematologist/Oncologist
- Board Certification in Hematology/Oncology is highly desired
- Oncology Drug Development track record, especially later-stage development
- People management/leadership track record
- Very strong communication and presentation skills
- The ability to work effectively in an entrepreneurial biotech culture, i.e. minimal layers and swift decision making process
